That's what I heard when I read the rants of some DA artists about the Square-Enix/DA contest. I don't blame them, but it was a drop from a high that only existed because I wanted to think this shit was a nice scoop of motivation to draw something nice, that had fallen from the sky into my hands instead of being a faux opportunity and waste of time. I already started on the sketches and I'd already come up with a character design, background story and all that shit for atleast one character in less than 12 hours. And I was satisfied with it, which is rare. I can never draw something unless it's for someone else. If it's for me, I criticize myself to no end and pound my motivation into the ground.
Sure, not submitting my art to the contest will mean I won't be giving myself a good chance of getting served, but all that motivation just went splat. This just fucking sucks.
